JOURNAL ARTICLE EDITING & FORMATTING SERVICES

Montezuma Publishing (MP) offers journal article services designed to assist authors with preparing their manuscript for journal submission. MP can edit, and format text and graphics for manuscripts according to your journal submission guidelines and deadline. This service is for authors who:

  • Have selected the journal they are going to submit to.
  • Wish to leave all text and image formatting to experts.

ARTICLE EDITING

We are not subject-matter specialists. We do not offer substantive editing.
The editor will check for the following:

  • Spelling
  • Grammar
  • Punctuation
  • Clarify
  • Effective use of language

Editing Timeline

The time it takes to complete the editing of your file will be determined on a case-by-case basis. Variables such as document length, the number of edits required, response rate, and your date of submission will affect this timeline.

ARTICLE FORMATTING TEXT

Formatters will ensure that your text complies with all the journal author requirements for text including in text citations and references.

You will be required to provide us with:

  • A link to the journal you intend to submit to.
  • A current sample article that we will use as a reference for your manuscript formatting.
  • A link to the "Notes to Authors" or "Author Instructions" for your journal.

ARTICLE FORMATTING GRAPHICS

If your document contains tables or figures, our Graphic editors can use professional software to ensure your images, graphs, and tables adhere to all technical requirements. You will be required to provide a draft for the graphic editor to refer to when correcting or recreating these items. We will not accept raw data.

Formatting Text/Graphics Timeline

The completion date will be determined after providing MP with the final version of your manuscript and paying all necessary fees. In general, a 10-page article will take approximately 1 week to be emailed to you for review.

PRICING

We have a minimum flat fee of $100 for articles that are 10 pages or less. Each additional page is $10. One page is equal to 250 words. Tables and figures are counted separately. A pending invoice will be provided to you when we receive your document and determine the page count and services requested.

OUTLINE OF SERVICES

Article Editing

  1. MP will edit the document according to the journal author guidelines and the items outlined in our editing service section.
  2. MP will send the article back to you for up to two rounds of review/edits.
  3. MP will make any necessary changes and then supply you with the final Word doc and PDF.
  4. MP will make necessary edits free of charge if the journal requires changes that are outlined in the author instructions the MP did not apply to your manuscript. *Any changes you make to your document after MP supplies the final version will not be considered for revision without additional payment.

Article Formatting

  1. MP will format the document according to the journal author guidelines.
  2. MP will send the article back to you for one round of review/edits.
  3. MP will make any necessary changes and then supply you with the final Word doc and PDF.
  4. MP will make necessary edits free of charge if the journal requires changes that are outlined in the author instructions the MP did not apply to your manuscript. *Any additional requested text edits or changes you make to your document after MP supplies the final version will not be considered for revision without additional payment.
