Option #1: Your Word File Requires Formatting and Design
CUSTOM SERVICES
We offer consultation, layout, design, printing, and delivery of soft perfect-bound books. We provide a quote once we receive the following materials (samples provided at the end):
- Outline of Book
- Manuscript (WORD File) with location of Pictures Notes
- Separate File with Photo Titles and Captions
- Separate Files of each Photo
- Keyword File – If Index is requested
TIMELINE
90-120 Days to create a print ready file (multiple proofs provided)
2 weeks for printing
AGREEMENT
Written agreement to outline what Montezuma Publishing will provide. Outline customer’s obligation to pay for services rendered (payment prior to printing, and payment when books are delivered). Customer will need to indemnify Montezuma Publishing from copyright infringement liability on all content and photos. We can clear required copyright and add the cost to our quoted price.
BASIC PROVISIONS
Upon receipt of the requested materials, we will assign an ISBN for your book. This allows your book to be sold in any bookstore or online entity and made available in libraries.
We format the first chapter and then work with you to make sure we have achieved the look and feel you desire. Our formatting fees are $3/page. We require a 50% deposit based on the number of anticipated pages. Once you sign off on the first chapter we will proceed with the formatting of the entire book.
We will work with you to design a full color cover. Your back cover will contain the ISBN plus a bar code scan.
Once the cover and text file is approved, we will order a proof of the entire book. It is your responsibility to review each and every page. This proof process is not intended for content edits but for design and formatting changes only. We will provide 1 proof. A $40 charge is added if customer edits require an additional printed proof. Once approved, we are ready to print.
The formatting fee balance is due prior to printing. You will receive a firm printing quote. You must purchase a minimum of 50 copies of the book. There is no limit to the number of copies we can print.
At your request, we can place your book on our Lightning Source, Ingram Book Content’s world-wide distribution channel which includes Amazon.com, Barnes & Nobles and hundreds of other online retailers. They will fulfill any orders received and send us payments monthly. We will pay you a previously agreed upon royalty per copy sold. We pay out royalties biannually at the end of May and December.
Option #2: You are Providing a Print Ready File

- WORD file of the entire book with images included – PDF is acceptable but we cannot make any edits to your PDF file. In-Design is acceptable
- Separate File with possible cover images

3-4 weeks to create a print ready file (proofs provided)
2 weeks for printing

A perfect bound (paperback style) with a color cover and black & white interior pages has an estimated cost of $.20/page. A 100 page book costs approximately $20 per copy.
